Jakarta (ANTARA) - After delays at Egypt’s Rafah border, a total of 35,000 humanitarian aid packages from the Indonesian people, distributed by the National Alms Agency (Baznas), have finally reached Gaza, Palestine.

"Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people, mandated to Baznas, has finally entered Gaza. After being held up for so long, these packages are now being distributed to our brothers and sisters there," said Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad in a statement on Tuesday.

Achmad said Baznas welcomed the ceasefire, which has allowed humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza. He expressed gratitude that this moment has enabled various aid shipments, including those from Indonesia, to finally reach the Palestinian people again.

He emphasized that the ceasefire must be used optimally to strengthen humanitarian efforts.

“Baznas will continue to make every effort while access remains open. This ceasefire is an opportunity to raise awareness and continue supporting our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are enduring difficult conditions,” he said.

Achmad reaffirmed his agency strong commitment to assisting the Palestinian people, in line with President Prabowo’s statement at the UN General Assembly, which underscored Indonesia’s full support for Palestinian independence.

He also urged Indonesians to continue fostering empathy and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

“Hopefully, the aid that has arrived in Gaza can ease their burden and encourage them to persevere through these challenging times,” Achmad added.
