This spending level reflects a 29 percent realization of the total budget ceiling of Rp71 trillion.
"If we see the distribution, it has been carried out across Indonesia," Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara said in a press conference on the state budget in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Based on the regional distribution, Java island recorded the highest number of MBG beneficiaries, reaching 18.42 million people, followed by Sumatra, 6.60 million; Sulawesi, 2.33 million; Bali-Nusa Tenggara, 1.83 million; Kalimantan, 1.36 million; and Maluku-Papua, with 700 thousand people.
Furthermore, 10,572 nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPGs), also known as MBG kitchens, have been set up across the country.
Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance, Luky Alfirman, added that the acceleration of the MBG program has been running well.
"We continue to push it to meet the target that has been set by the President, namely reaching 82.9 million beneficiaries," he said.
Earlier, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that he would continuously monitor the budget spending for the MBG program to ensure it runs effectively and reaches Rp71 trillion by the end of the year.
The MBG program was launched by the Indonesian government on January 6, 2025, as one of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto, initiated to improve the nutritional status of children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and schoolchildren up to the high school level.
With a target of 82.9 million beneficiaries, the program is one of the largest programs implemented in the country.
