Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has instructed all nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs), or kitchens dedicated to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, to serve fried rice with sunny-side-up eggs in celebration of President Prabowo Subianto's birthday today.

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana confirmed this celebratory directive, noting that egg fried rice is the favorite dish of the President.

"On this special day, October 17, 2025, which marks the 74th birthday of Mr. President Prabowo, all SPPGs in 38 provinces, 509 districts (and cities), and 7,022 sub-districts are simultaneously serving the same menu," he stated here on Friday.

Hindayana underscored that the initiative is being carried out nationwide, from Sabang in the east to Merauke in the west, as a gesture of appreciation to the head of state for his contributions to advancing public health through nutrition fulfillment.

"This move also serves as our way to wish Mr. Prabowo Subianto a happy birthday," he added.

The BGN chief went on to convey that all stakeholders involved in the MBG program wish the President continued health and success.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that President Prabowo will realize his vision of nurturing a golden generation of healthy, strong, and productive citizens capable of transforming Indonesia into a developed nation.

Hindayana said the “egg fried rice movement” symbolizes national solidarity in supporting the President’s vision for better public health and nutrition.

He went on to emphasize that the MBG program has played a key role in the government’s strategy to achieve the “Golden Indonesia 2045” vision by ensuring children’s access to nutritious meals.

Launched on January 6 this year, the MBG program aims to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources by providing meals of balanced nutritional content not only to schoolchildren but also to toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

Out of the 2025 target of 83 million recipients, the program has catered to more than 34 million citizens nationwide as of mid-October, supported by nearly 12 thousand SPPGs established by the BGN and its partners.
