Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka said on Sunday that family development serves as the foundation of Astacita — the eight priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration.

In an official statement, Oka said the government’s main focus as it approaches Prabowo’s first year in office is clear: building quality human resources beginning with strong, healthy families to realize the “Golden Indonesia 2045” vision.

“At the Asia Pacific Family Planning 2030 Forum in Bali, family planning was recognized as key to ensuring women’s well-being and protection,” she said.

“The 2030 goal is clear: no one should be left behind. Every family must have access to quality health and family planning services," she added.

Oka said her ministry has become a national center of excellence, focusing on strengthening family counseling, access to contraception, and community-based assistance through Family Assistance Teams (TPK).

Delegates from 13 countries attended the forum to study Indonesia’s best practices in family and health services.

She noted that family planning directly supports the improvement of human resources, a key element of Astacita.

“President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran have launched many programs focused on strengthening family, nutrition, education, and health,” she said.

Within a year, she added, the government had laid a strong foundation for family development, from stunting prevention and family resilience programs to strengthening grassroots family support networks.

Among the key initiatives is the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which provides meals to school children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and toddlers in their first 1,000 days of life.

Oka said the MBG program not only improves nutrition but also boosts the local economy and empowers women through involvement in community kitchens, food distribution, and nutrition units.

“They get better nutrition, the economy grows, and women’s dignity rises,” she said.

Complementing MBG are the Free Health Check program and educational initiatives such as Sekolah Rakyat for underprivileged families and Sekolah Garuda, which prepares students for top-tier universities.
