Harmony is a prerequisite for development. Indonesia can only progress if its people live in peace, respect one another, and have a strong sense of national awareness,Jakarta (ANTARA) - Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar stated that the Asta Cita missions of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka are more than a political agenda, serving instead as the nation’s moral direction.
“Asta Cita is not merely a political plan, but a moral compass. At the Ministry of Religious Affairs, we strive to ensure that religious values go beyond words and are reflected in policies that uphold human dignity,” Umar said here on Tuesday.
During a reflection on one year of the ministry’s efforts to support the Asta Cita missions, Umar emphasized that the past year has been a critical period in promoting a more inclusive, productive, and prosperous religious life.
The ministry has committed to translating Asta Cita into tangible actions by fostering harmony as a prerequisite for development, strengthening religious education, and improving the welfare of religious education teachers.
Over the past year, he said, the ministry has developed systems and programs to reinforce national harmony. Through the Si-Rukun early-warning system application, potential religious conflicts can be detected early in various regions.
Si-Rukun system maps high-risk zones and guides conflict resolution efforts. Over 500 counselors have been trained, along with 300 more in social-religious mapping and 600 preachers in moderate and digital literacy-based preaching.
Additionally, 200 young dai were trained in contextual dawah and entrepreneurship, while the National College Student Leadership Academy (Akminas) has produced 1,192 interfaith youth leaders.
“Harmony is a prerequisite for development. Indonesia can only progress if its people live in peace, respect one another, and have a strong sense of national awareness,” the minister asserted.
