In a press release issued in Jakarta on Wednesday, he emphasized that all Indonesian ambassadors must refer to the Asta Cita when pursuing national interests abroad, particularly those related to the economy.
He made the statement during an orientation event for 22 prospective ambassadors at the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
“Ambassadors must be able to intensify economic diplomacy to help achieve the target of 8 percent economic growth,” Paulus said.
The deputy minister stressed that nurturing and maintaining harmonious relations with other countries is vital for attracting foreign investment and building a more favorable trade system for Indonesia.
“The Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs sincerely hopes that everyone here will emerge as the best representatives of Indonesia, reflecting the nation’s identity and values on the global stage,” he added.
