“Warner Bros owns many intellectual properties (IPs) that we could bring to NTB. We are now discussing which IPs would best suit Lombok and Sumbawa,” Iqbal said after meeting Warner Bros Discovery representatives here on Sunday.
He explained that NTB is advancing the “meeting, incentive, sport, and event” (MISE) program. Therefore, the provincial government continues to build communication with key players in the global industry, including Warner Bros Discovery.
According to him, his meeting with the company opened discussions on potential collaborations in film production, sport tourism, and international-scale thematic events.
“Warner Bros Global representatives came to explore these ideas. We hope to bring both national and global IPs to NTB. In 2026, hopefully, we can host a world-class event here,” he remarked.
Iqbal mentioned that Warner Bros holds various sports-related IPs, such as Ocean Rise and Golden Real, which he said demonstrate strong appeal and could be adopted in NTB.
“Those are amazing events,” he added.
Besides event collaboration, Iqbal also highlighted the vast international media network under Warner Bros Discovery.
“Warner Bros owns CNN, international media, and Eurosport. Once they organize an event, its resonance will be global. That’s why we’re engaging with them,” he noted.
The Warner Bros Discovery delegation also attended the Rinjani Mountain Festival in Sembalun, which Iqbal described as an initial step toward future content collaboration, particularly with the Discovery Channel, which has yet to feature Mount Rinjani.
