Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has called on all segments of Indonesian society to actively support the fight against drug trafficking by reporting any signs of narcotics abuse or trade in their communities.

“We must not allow drugs to circulate. If there’s any indication—whether a dealer or information—report it immediately,” Prabowo said during a ceremony at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stressed that the war on drugs is not the sole responsibility of law enforcement agencies, but a collective duty of the entire nation. “This is not just the task of one or two institutions. It’s the responsibility of all of us,” he stated.

Prabowo emphasized the critical role of families, educators, and local leaders in preventing drug abuse. “Parents, do not let your children be destroyed and lose their future. If there’s any sign, report it,” he urged.

The president reaffirmed the government’s full support for the National Police and the National Narcotics Agency in their efforts to eradicate drug networks. He also expressed his readiness to take direct action should a major drug factory or syndicate be uncovered.

“This is a shared responsibility. If we uncover a major network, I will act,” he said.

Prabowo made the remarks while attending the destruction of 214.84 tons of narcotics worth Rp29.37 trillion at Bhayangkara Field, Mabes Polri.

Between October 2024 and October 2025, Polri recorded 49,306 drug-related cases involving 65,572 suspects. The police also conducted 1,898 rehabilitation programs using a restorative justice approach.
