Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor highlighted the importance of synergy between the education sector and the industry to accelerate the transformation of national human resources (HR).

This, according to him, is necessary so that Indonesia is prepared to face major changes in the modern world of work.

"We cannot do HR transformation individually. Parties in the education, training, and industry sectors must move together to prepare a workforce that is relevant to the needs of the time," he stated in a statement on Thursday.

Noor assessed that today's employment challenges are not only about the availability of job opportunities but also about the workforce's readiness to face technological shifts.

"We need a younger generation that is not only technically skilled but also possesses creative thinking and is adaptive," he stressed.

He affirmed that his ministry is currently strengthening competency improvement programs through the revitalization of job training centers and the development of an integrated digital system for training, certification, and labor market information to accelerate the provision of quality human resources for industries.

In addition, he stated that the Ministry of Manpower is also expanding the national internship program to serve as a bridge between the education sector and the industry.

The program offers opportunities to fresh graduates to get direct experience, which will equip them to compete in the job market.

The deputy minister emphasized that cross-sectoral cooperation is the main foundation for preparing future human resources.

"If the government, the education sector, and the industry move in the same direction, Indonesia will not only be ready to face changes, but also become the driver of those changes themselves," he said.

He expressed optimism that with sustained collaboration, Indonesia will be able to create a productive, innovative, and globally competitive workforce, underscoring that HR transformation is a long-term investment for the nation's progress.
