“We are conducting free health checks for construction workers to ensure the sustainability of IKN’s development,” said Troy Pantouw, spokesperson for the IKN Authority, on Sunday.
The authority said it will monitor examination results and assess follow-up needs as part of efforts to create a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. All workers are also required to be registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the national workers’ social security agency.
At least 7,800 construction workers living in worker housing complexes 1 and 2 are expected to take part in the medical program, which includes general consultations, basic health screenings, and free medication.
Pantouw stressed that the well-being of workers is vital to the success of the capital’s construction.

“Workforce health is crucial to ensuring the smooth progress of IKN development,” he said.
The authority has mapped around 1,000 workers to identify common health problems at construction sites, allowing for more targeted health services. It also plans to expand on-site facilities to improve workers’ living conditions.
Pantouw said the initiative reflects IKN’s broader commitment to providing decent living standards for those building the government’s new administrative hub.
“Workers must be guaranteed not only good health but also proper and comfortable housing,” he said.
The free health check program aims to maintain worker productivity and prevent delays caused by illness, ensuring the mega project continues on schedule.
