“Some routes seem likely to get it,” Sadewa said after attending a working meeting with the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Committee IV here on Monday.
However, he did not specify which toll sections might be eligible for the discount.
Meanwhile, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said he will discuss toll discounts for the Christmas-New Year period with toll road operators (BUJT).
Regarding the exact discount amounts and eligible routes, he has yet to confirm, though the routes will likely mirror those used for last year’s Christmas-New Year period.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto previously stated that the government is preparing a special stimulus package for the holiday season.
The program includes discounted airline tickets, value-added tax (VAT) incentives borne by the government (PPN DTP), toll discounts, ferry discounts, train discounts, and promotions during the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) on December 12.
The Public Works Ministry and BUJT have previously implemented toll discounts to support smooth traffic flow during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 homecoming and return periods.
The 10 percent discount, applied to all vehicle categories, is aimed at optimizing traffic distribution and preventing congestion during predicted peak travel days.
For the Trans-Java Toll, discounts applied to the integrated Jakarta-Cikampek, Cikampek-Palimanan, Palimanan-Kanci, Kanci-Pejagan, Pejagan-Pemalang, Pemalang-Batang, Batang-Semarang, and Semarang ABC Sections.
Meanwhile, the return flow traffic discounts were applied in the reverse direction, from Semarang ABC to Jakarta-Cikampek or Kalikangkung Toll Gate to Cikampek Utama Toll Gate.
For the Trans-Sumatra, a 10 percent toll discount was applied to all vehicles during the homecoming on Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung, Kayu Agung-Palembang, and Pekanbaru-Dumai toll sections.
