Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Environment Ministry (KLH) inaugurated a Public Complaint Post as a form of revitalization and improvement of services to the public and the environmental document licensing process.

Deputy Minister of Environment, Diaz Hendropriyono, during the inauguration in Jakarta on Friday, stated that his office wants to revitalize the public complaint post and the licensing services that have been in operation for several years.

"We believe that public complaint services can still be improved, so a mechanism is needed to expedite the reporting process," Diaz said.

The service improvement also aligns with the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Permen PANRB) Number 5 of 2025, which stipulates that the complaint follow-up procedure is a maximum of five working days for requests for information and normative complaints.

There's also a maximum follow-up period of 14 days for complaints that do not involve field supervision and inspections, and 60 working days for complaints that require field supervision and verification.

"Therefore, we've simplified the mechanism. Previously, every public complaint had to go through a verification and validation process by the Public Relations Bureau. Now, we're trying to simplify it so that reports can be forwarded directly to the technical unit," he said.

Diaz also stated that the ministry has revitalized the permitting process, including the environmental document process.

He gave an example of how the Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) process this year was reduced to 51 days, down from approximately 168 days in 2024.
