Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Immigration has strengthened oversight of foreign nationals (WNA) in Bali by opening two new offices in Tabanan District and Klungkung District.

The initiative aims to expand immigration service coverage while improving supervision of foreign nationals’ activities in the island’s tourism areas.

Acting Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman, said the new offices were established in areas with high demand for immigration services.

“Regions identified as having significant immigration service needs can now be better accommodated,” he said in a press statement received in Denpasar on Thursday.

The Immigration Office in Tabanan District is located behind the Tabanan Head District’s Office on Jalan Arjuna 2 Delod Peken, Sub-district of Tabanan.

Meanwhile, the office in Klungkung District is situated on Jalan Semarapura, Sub-district of Klungkung. Both are designated as Class III Immigration Offices without Immigration Checkpoint (Non-TPI) status.

Through these new offices, both Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA) can access various services such as passport issuance, residence permits, and other immigration-related services.

Their presence is also expected to enhance service quality for foreign nationals, particularly in processing residence permits.

In addition to expanding service reach, the two offices are expected to strengthen immigration law enforcement and monitoring systems in Bali.

This improvement enables faster and more effective coordination among government agencies in handling violations committed by foreign nationals.

The new offices will also help reduce the workload of the Denpasar Immigration Office, which currently covers Denpasar City, parts of Badung District (Abiansemal, Mengwi, and Petang Sub-districts), as well as Gianyar, Klungkung, Bangli, and Tabanan Districts.

Bali currently has three Immigration Offices with Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) status, namely the Denpasar Immigration Office, Ngurah Rai Immigration Office covering Kuta, North Kuta, and South Kuta in Badung District, and Singaraja Immigration Office serving Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem Districts.

The establishment of the new offices in Tabanan and Klungkung is also expected to support Bali’s tourism sector amid a steady rise in international tourist arrivals.

According to data from the Bali Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), international tourist arrivals from January to September 2025 reached 5.29 million, an increase of 11.55 percent compared with 4.74 million during the same period last year.

Australian tourists remained the largest group, accounting for 1.2 million visits, followed by tourists from India, China, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Malaysia, Germany, and Japan - completing the top ten visitor list.
