Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said here on Thursday that the collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in updating and utilizing the database to distribute aid, must be consistently strengthened.
She noted her appreciation for Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf’s direct involvement in overseeing data integration efforts between her administration and the ministry.
"He often asks, 'Ma’am, has the data been transferred to us?' 'How is the progress coming so far?' It shows just how much he cares about DTSEN," Widyasanti said.
Since the second quarter of 2025, she said, the Social Affairs Ministry has utilized DTSEN as the basis for social aid distribution, replacing its predecessor, the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS), she said.
She stated that BPS' data per July 31, 2025, shows that of 286.7 million people, some 94.2 million families are verified in DTSEN, and 23.85 million of them are classified as underprivileged.
Widyasanti said the collaboration demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring that data-driven social policies follow principles of fairness, validity, and accuracy.
"DTSEN is not just BPS' or the Social Affairs Ministry's, but it belongs to Indonesia as a whole. The success in integrating this data depends on our synergy and collaboration, in both central and regional scopes," she said.
Hence, she gave instructions to BPS members at all levels, from central to municipal, to strengthen coordination with the Social Affairs Ministry and its units, to consistently update and utilize DTSEN.
These efforts, she added, are essential to ensuring that statistical insights contribute to improving social welfare, enabling policymakers to design appropriate interventions for the public.
