Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - The National Civil Service Agency (BKN) has taken concrete steps to strengthen the governance of Indonesia's civil servants, making it more adaptive and integrated while advancing a progressive design for bureaucratic reform.

BKN Head Zuhdan Arif Fakrulloh noted in a statement cited here on Thursday that improving the competency and professionalism of more than five million civil servants is vital to support President Prabowo Subianto’s eight key missions, collectively known as the Asta Cita.

He delivered the statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (November 19) during the 2025 National Coordination Meeting on Civil Service, which brought together several ministers and representatives of provincial, municipal, and district governments.

Elaborating on the concept of a progressive design for bureaucratic reform, Fakrulloh stated that such reform can be achieved by formulating policies that are more responsive and adaptive to social and technological developments.

He underlined that the BKN has issued nine pro-civil servant policies to support career flexibility and continuous improvements in capacity and professionalism, with ongoing efforts to comprehensively profile personnel to enhance placement accuracy.

"These measures are also aimed at facilitating us all to assess and develop civil servants, ensuring that career-related policies can run more objectively according to data," Fakrulloh stated.

He added that the agency has also developed a one-stop civil service online platform, known as ASN Digital, accessible to all institutions to strengthen the national civil service ecosystem.

Fakrulloh explained that the platform is meant to integrate data on civil servants across central and regional institutions to improve data consistency and increase efficiency in related processes.

"With strong collaboration, we will be able to redesign bureaucratic and administrative reforms, making them more substantive and aligned with the Asta Cita, while guiding civil servants to be more professional and adaptive in public service," he concluded.
