Johannesburg, South Africa (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka plans to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and critical minerals in his speech at the third and final session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday.

He stated that these two topics were based on instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.

"In accordance with the President's direction, we will discuss AI and critical minerals on the second day of the G20," Gibran said.

He admitted that he had not specifically prepared his speech.

‎"There are no special preparations, just pray for everything to go smoothly," he added.

‎In the third session of the G20 Summit, the heads of state will discuss decent work and artificial intelligence governance.

For Indonesia, the third session will discuss critical minerals, as a proposal and as a key area of interest at this meeting.

Previously, in the first session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg on Saturday (November 22), leaders discussed sustainable economic issues, the role of trade and finance in development, and debt challenges faced by developing countries.

During the session, Gibran highlighted Indonesia's digital payment system, QRIS, as a simple payment solution.

He introduced QRIS as a simple and low-cost digital payments with the ability to encourage participation in the economy and minimize inequality.

Meanwhile, in the second session, the discussion focused on building a resilient world, covering issues of disasters, climate change, just energy transition, and food systems. Gibran also discussed the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) priority program initiated by President Prabowo as a strategic investment.

According to him, food security and the MBG program are not merely economic agendas.

"President Prabowo is focusing on food security and the MBG program for 80 million students and pregnant women as a strategic investment. This encourages the use of local products, empowers farmers and livestock breeders, and expands economic activity in various sectors," he spoke at the G20 Summit on Saturday.
