North Tapanuli Police Chief AKBP Ernis Sitinjak said 3.5 tons of aid were distributed to the affected areas.
"We have received 3.5 tons of aid from the National Police Chief," he said in Siborongborong City on Saturday.
Sitinjak stated that the aid from the Police Chief, the highest-ranking police officer in Indonesia, would be distributed to nine sub-districts: Adiankoting, Parmonangan, Pahae Jae, Purbatua, Tarutung, Simangumban, Siatasbarita, Sipoholon, and Pahae Julu.
The aid included food, bread, instant noodles, mattresses, medicines, and fast food. In addition, the Police Chief also sent tents to be set up at evacuation posts.
"We would like to express our gratitude to the Chief of Police for the assistance. We will immediately distribute the aid so it can reach our brothers and sisters in need," he said.
