"The police respects KPK`s investigation."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Deputy national police chief Commissioner General Nanan Soekarna was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness over alleged corruption in the traffic police`s simulator project here on Wednesday.

"The police respects KPK`s investigation," chief of crime investigation Commissioner General Sutarman said with regard to Nanan`s questioning.

Asked if the name Nanan Soekarna also emerged when the police were investigating the case, Sutarman said it had not gone that far.

Nanan came at 9.16am to be grilled as a witness for former national traffic police chief Djoko Susilo who has been named a suspect in connection with a corruption case in the driving simulator procurement project of the National Police Headquarters.

KPK has temporarily estimated the losses suffered by the state in connection with the case at Rp100 billion out of Rp196.8 billion worth of budget for the project.

"I am questioned as a witness," Nanan said on arrival at KPK.
