Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan said the move aims to stabilize supplies and prevent unrest as communities in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra face disruptions to road access.
"I have instructed Bulog to supply logistics and essential needs at double capacity," Hasan said during a visit to flash-flood-hit Ikur Koto in Padang on Sunday.
He said Bulog must send 2,000 kilograms of goods to regions requesting 1,000 kilograms, including rice, cooking oil and sugar, to ensure affected residents receive adequate support.
Hasan said the expanded supply scheme had begun in several districts across the three disaster-stricken provinces, where heavy floods and landslides have cut key distribution routes.
He warned that limited access could trigger public tension if staple goods run short, adding that boosting supplies early was necessary to avoid disputes over aid.
"With road access disrupted, we see the need for preventive measures so people do not fight over logistics," he said.

The minister also promised government support for rebuilding homes destroyed in Ikur Koto, one of Padang’s hardest-hit neighborhoods.
"The mayor said some victims still have land. I will find ways to help rebuild homes that were swept away," Hasan said.
He added that restoring damaged infrastructure, especially roads, remains a government priority to speed aid deliveries and recovery efforts.
Hasan was accompanied by Padang Mayor Fadly Amran during the visit, meeting residents whose houses were submerged or carried off by the floods.
Local authorities say severe flooding in the area has displaced families, destroyed homes and disrupted supplies, underscoring the urgency of sustained logistics support.
