"We hope the arrival of these warships will accelerate the distribution of aid to all flood-affected areas," said Murthalamuddin, spokesperson for the Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Response Command Post, on Wednesday.
The operation is being led by the Dansatfib Koarmada I, who oversees coordination of all warships involved in the mission.
Murthalamuddin said ships were dispatched on different routes across flood-hit areas of Aceh to support the humanitarian operation.
KRI Teluk Gilimanuk sailed from Jakarta to Aceh and is scheduled to arrive at Krueng Geukueh Port in North Aceh on the morning of December 5.
KRI Dr. Soeharso, a hospital ship carrying aid and emergency medical services, departed Jakarta for Langsa with an estimated arrival on the afternoon of December 5.
KRI Sutedi Senoputra transported aid from Belawan to Langsa, arriving on November 30 with logistics for eastern Aceh.
KRI Dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat, a hospital support ship, delivered assistance to the west coast of Sumatra to support emergency response in hard-to-reach areas.
Meanwhile, KRI Torani was prepared to distribute aid to eastern Aceh, particularly locations needing logistical support.
KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin was assigned the Belawan–Lhokseumawe–Sabang route to ensure aid distribution reached northern Aceh.
