State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, who attended the meeting, said the president called for accelerated logistics distribution, particularly fuel supplies, which have been disrupted as several major roads and key bridges were cut off by the disasters.
“The president instructed the acceleration of efforts in the areas that remain isolated and emphasized the need to speed up fuel distribution, which has been hindered by damaged routes,” he said in a statement.
Hadi added that the president requested the latest detailed reports from relevant officials on conditions in the field, especially in regions that are still isolated in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra provinces.
During the meeting, which was attended by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, President Prabowo also underlined the need to restore electricity as a vital service for affected communities.
According to Hadi, the president instructed the CEO of state-owned electricity firm PLN to take swift action to ensure that power network recovery could be completed quickly.
“The CEO of PLN was present, and the president requested that electricity be restored across all areas in the three provinces within the next two days,” he said.
He affirmed that President Prabowo is continuously monitoring developments on the ground.
“If possible, the president intends to revisit the affected regions,” he added.
Floods and landslides recently struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra following high-intensity rainfall. According to data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), as of December 7, the death toll had reached 916, while 274 people remained missing.
