Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said on Saturday night that power in most parts of West Sumatra had already been restored.
However, several areas in North Sumatra — including Langkat and Tapanuli — as well as parts of Aceh, still remain without electricity.
“The President ordered that by tomorrow night at the latest, electricity must be fully restored,” Wijaya said, relaying Prabowo’s directive issued during a limited meeting with ministers and the state‑owned electricity company PLN at the President’s private residence in Bukit Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday (Dec. 6).
During the same meeting, President Prabowo also instructed officials to urgently repair land routes leading to areas affected by flash floods and landslides.
“President Prabowo has ordered that all road access in disaster‑affected areas must be restored immediately, temporary bridges must be completed as soon as possible, and electricity must be fully restored,” Wijaya said.
In addition, the President instructed that fuel supplies be secured quickly and logistical needs met without delay.
Prabowo issued a special order to accelerate the restoration of land routes in areas where access remains cut off, including in Takengon, Central Aceh, and Bener Meriah.
Furthermore, the Head of State stated that he plans to revisit the disaster‑affected areas and will continue to monitor developments on the ground.
Flash floods struck parts of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
According to the latest update from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on Nov. 6, 2025, the death toll from the floods and landslides in Sumatra has reached 914, with 389 people still reported missing.
