"Humanitarian aid from the 'Ministry of Agriculture Cares' program began arriving and was distributed in Aceh on Saturday (December 6, 2025)," said Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
He said that 12 logistics trucks carrying basic necessities and baby supplies had arrived in Geudubang Jawa Village, Langsa City. This shipment was the first aid received by residents of Langsa City and Southeast Aceh District.
Sulaiman stated that all assistance was the result of the cooperation and trust of strategic partners, the business community, and ministry staff.
Therefore, he continued, strict supervision was carried out from the collection and packaging stages to delivery to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and affected areas.
"All this aid comes from partners and Ministry of Agriculture employees. We monitor it until it reaches its destination; there must be no misuse. This is a trust," he emphasized.
Previously, on Thursday (December 4, 2025), Sulaiman released 207 trucks of humanitarian aid worth IDR 34.8 billion (around USD 2.09 million), from a total donation of IDR 74.85 billion (around USD 4.49 million) collected for flood victims in Sumatra.
The initial aid consisted of rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, milk, mineral water, ready-to-eat meals, blankets, baby supplies, and generators to support emergency response operations.
The aid was delivered by land, air, and sea, including using Hercules aircraft and the KRI Banda Aceh, with full support from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Deliveries were carried out in stages to accelerate the fulfillment of needs in affected areas.
The minister ensured that aid distribution to Aceh would continue to increase in line with evolving needs in the field
All deliveries were accompanied by complete documentation, handover reports, and field verification to ensure the quantity and condition of the aid remained intact and that basic needs reached beneficiaries
In addition to humanitarian assistance, the government is also distributing routine food aid in the form of 44,000 tons of rice and 6,000 tons of cooking oil to strengthen regional reserves and maintain supply stability in affected areas.
