Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Minister Yandri Susanto urged professional village facilitator (TPP) teams to fully understand and actively take part in rural development initiatives, including the Red and White Village Cooperatives program.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is crucial for you all to have a comprehensive understanding and direct involvement in the village cooperatives program. You must avoid acts that are deemed counterproductive to such programs,” he told TPP members.

Susanto delivered the remarks at the 2025 National Coordination Meeting on the Strengthening of TPP’s Role, monitored online in Jakarta on Tuesday.

In his address, the minister highlighted the need to evaluate TPP members’ understanding of government village development programs implemented nationwide.

“Using available tools, I want the knowledge of village facilitators in provinces, districts, and villages regarding village cooperatives and the Free Nutritious Meals program to be tested. Underwhelming assessment results should be followed by evaluations,” Susanto stressed.

He emphasized that strong comprehension of village development programs is vital for TPP teams to build public awareness about government strategies under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.

“I would like to once again urge you to stay updated with information on Mr. President’s programs, especially those related to villages,” he said.

The minister reiterated that TPP teams play a key role in ensuring optimal implementation of village development efforts, contributing to improvements in public service within his ministry.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you assume a crucial role in shaping the image of the Ministry of Villages and driving progress in rural regions across Indonesia. Please, keep in mind that your works are funded by the state,” he stated.

Susanto’s remarks align with President Prabowo’s eight core missions, one of which focuses on developing Indonesia from its rural areas through initiatives such as the Red and White Village Cooperatives program.
