This information was conveyed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia in a statement issued on Monday. He noted that the government has been relying on helicopters and aircraft to deliver fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
He added that the gradual restoration of land access over the past few days has enabled tanker trucks carrying gasoline and LPG to reach residents in previously isolated areas, including Takengon (Central Aceh), Bener Meriah, and Aceh Tamiang.
"Seven filling stations in Aceh Tamiang have resumed normal operations," Lahadalia remarked.
The minister also urged Pertamina’s subsidiary, Pertamina Patra Niaga, to ensure optimal public access to fuel by expanding 24-hour operations at filling stations in more regions affected by the floods and landslides that struck in late November.
He made the statement during a working visit to review the availability of energy supplies for the Christmas and New Year holiday period in Jakarta on Sunday (December 28).
In the presence of Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, he told the media that relevant stakeholders have taken measures to ensure sufficient stocks of LPG and various types of fuel for the year-end holiday season.
On that note, Lahadalia emphasized that Pertamina has secured supplies of diesel fuel, as well as RON 90 (Pertalite), RON 92 (Pertamax), and RON 98 (Pertamax Turbo) gasoline to meet surging demand amid intensified public mobility.
"There is therefore no cause for concern. In fact, LPG stocks are also above the national minimum level," he assured the public.
