Medan (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Muhammad Syafi’i has urged civil servants and employees at the Ministry of Religious Affairs to support President Prabowo Subianto’s ongoing efforts to advance national development and progress.

He said a number of programs initiated by President Prabowo and the Red and White Cabinet have begun to yield tangible results, particularly in the area of food security.

“Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency in food. Since 2025, we have stopped importing rice because we are now able to meet domestic demand independently,” Syafi’i said.

Syafi’i made the remarks during a civil servant mentoring event in Batu Bara District, North Sumatra, on Thursday, according to an official statement cited in Medan on Friday.

In his address, the deputy minister also called on civil servants at both central and regional offices to align their work with President Prabowo’s firm stance against corruption.

“The president has taken a strong and uncompromising position against corrupt practices that harm the public. This commitment encourages the government to pursue both legal and political measures to combat corruption,” he said.

Syafi’i noted that the Prabowo administration has intensified law enforcement efforts across various sectors, including mining, oil, and gas, to prevent losses to the state. He urged officials at the Ministry of Religious Affairs to play an active role in anti-corruption efforts.

“Even a single corruption case within the Ministry of Religious Affairs can have far-reaching consequences, as our institution is entrusted with upholding the nation’s moral and religious values,” he said.

He further emphasized the ministry’s strategic role in maintaining national harmony amid Indonesia’s ethnic and religious diversity.

“The ministry serves as a pillar of interfaith harmony and represents the government in safeguarding peaceful relations among followers of different religions,” Syafi’i said.

He added that preserving unity in diversity remains essential for Indonesia to continue its development and progress under President Prabowo’s leadership.
