Officials stated that nearly 1,000 personnel have been deployed alongside heavy equipment and search dogs.
Basarnas Operations Director Yudhi Bramantyo said nine excavators and seven water pumps were utilized on the third day of operations to expedite evacuations in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua Subdistrict.
“Today’s operation follows the same pattern as previous days, with nine excavators and seven water pumps operating simultaneously,” Bramantyo told reporters in Bandung, referring to the equipment used to clear thick mud and debris.
He noted that the joint operation includes personnel from Basarnas, the police, the military, local governments, and various volunteer agencies.
Bramantyo added that 12 K-9 search dogs from the national police and the Semarang search and rescue office were deployed on Monday to help locate victims buried beneath the sediment.
Search operations remain divided into sectors, with Sector A covering the eastern area and Sector B the western area. Each sector is further subdivided into smaller zones to improve efficiency.
West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman reported that 25 body bags have been recovered from the site, with 17 victims successfully identified and returned to their families for burial.
“Of the 25 body bags recovered, 17 victims have been identified as of this morning and handed over to their families, while the remaining victims are still undergoing identification,” Herman said.
Authorities warned that searches could take several more days due to unstable ground and the continuing risks at the disaster site.
