Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the government is still formulating the funding scheme for the program together with a number of related ministries and institutions.
“When we talk about the scheme, we also hope this will be part of encouraging all parties to eventually get involved,” Hadi said at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Tuesday.
Prabowo explained that the program implementation will not fully rely on the State Budget (APBN) or Regional Budgets (APBD). According to him, the government wants individuals as well as private sector actors to participate in the program.
“Perhaps individuals or private parties, so we are not merely relying on the APBN or APBD. The spirit is togetherness, beauty, and cleanliness that the President, as Head of State and Head of Government, wants to inspire,” he said.
In addition to preparing the funding scheme, the government will also discuss about the technical aspects of the program, including the development of technology to produce roof tiles in large quantities to meet demand on the field.
The roof tile transformation program is an environmental arrangement agenda, which also includes waste management, the regulation of billboards and advertising boards, and the organization of overhead cables in urban areas.
The program is expected to begin this year once all technical and funding aspects have been finalized.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto called for a national movement to replace zinc roofs with clay roof tiles, as part of efforts to beautify Indonesia’s appearance.
“I want all roofs in Indonesia to use roof tiles. So this movement will be a project across Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
