"In the last two months, there has been a significant recovery, with 27 regions now fully restored to normal," the task force's chief, Tito Karnavian, said during the inauguration of temporary housing units for Sumatra flood victims, which was broadcast online on Thursday.
He noted that according to current data, 15 regions are nearing full recovery, with remaining issues still being addressed by the government.
Meanwhile, 10 regions still require special attention due to the relatively extensive impact of the disasters, including areas in Aceh Province.
Based on his presentation, in West Sumatra Province, seven regions have fully recovered, while Agam and Padang Pariaman districts still require further handling.
"In North Sumatra, nine regions have returned to normalcy, while several others are nearing recovery," he said.
Karnavian, concurrently serving as the Minister of Home Affairs, credited these achievements to the hard work of the central and regional governments, as well as the support of volunteers and military and police personnel on the ground.
The central government has prepared various assistance schemes for affected residents across the three provinces.
This aid includes housing rehabilitation, with funding provided based on the level of damage, ranging from light and moderate damage to severe damage or total loss.
For houses that incurred light damage, the government is providing Rp15 million (approximately US$891) per unit, while those with moderate damage receive Rp30 million (US$1,783) per unit. For houses that are severely damaged or destroyed, the assistance is set at Rp60 million (US$3,565) per unit.
According to the task force's data, there are 35,208 lightly damaged homes, 17,350 moderately damaged homes, and 24,443 severely damaged homes across the three affected provinces in Sumatra.
