By 2025, the CKG program reached 70.8 million people, or 24.9 percent of the national population.
"For 2026, we are aiming to reach more than 100 million people participating in the CKG," said Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono during his visit to Tangerang, Banten, on Friday.
He stated that the CKG achievement the previous year was the largest in Indonesia's healthcare system, reaching approximately 70 million people.
The Health Ministry is evaluating the implementation of the 2025 CKG Program with relevant ministries and institutions to analyze the main challenges in hitting the 2026 target of 46 percent of the population.
"This CKG program was mandated by President Prabowo Subianto. The cost per person can reach Rp1–2 million (US$59–118). So, with this substantial cost, it would be a shame if the public didn't take advantage of it," said Harbuwono.
As a concrete step towards achieving this year's CKG target, the Ministry is encouraging all regional governments (Pemda) to continue improving the program's performance.
Furthermore, the ministry will ensure the readiness of all supporting health facilities at the regional level as a step to accelerate the achievement of the national CKG target.
"Hopefully, this (CKG) program can continue, with many innovative activities being implemented by each community health center (Puskesmas) in the region," said the Deputy Minister of Health.
Harbuwono expressed his appreciation to regions that have exceeded the CKG Program initial target, such as Tangerang Regency, Banten, which achieved 106 percent coverage of its 3.1 million population.
He said this achievement makes this region the highest achiever in the national CKG Program target coverage.
"Other areas, for example, in South Sulawesi, specifically in Pangkep, also have high rates nearing 100 percent. However, they have not reached Tangerang's 106 percent, even though the target is 100 percent," said Harbuwono.
