Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said village officials play a crucial role in digitalization and updating the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) to ensure social assistance is well-targeted.

During his visit for the DTSEN socialization event here on Friday, Yusuf said updating DTSEN at the village level requires competence from operators entering accurate data.

"I hope the Sidoarjo district head can provide training for village operators responsible for data entry to ensure the accuracy of DTSEN, especially in Sidoarjo," he said.

He said data accuracy must be supported by the active involvement of all parties, from neighborhood units and villages or urban wards, subdistricts, districts or cities, up to the provincial level, in recording eligible families or individuals.

In addition, Yusuf said the Ministry of Social Affairs has opened public participation in determining, assessing, disputing, criticizing, and proposing updated data on those eligible to receive assistance.

He explained that public participation can be carried out formally through village governments or local social affairs offices, as well as through nonformal channels using the ministry’s application called Cek Bansos.

The minister emphasized that DTSEN updates are conducted daily, with the data directly processed by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) at both regional and national levels before being consolidated into quarterly data.

"With daily data updates and quarterly reporting, we hope the distribution of social assistance will become more accurate and able to reach families that have not yet received support," he said.

He also hoped people who have moved out of the lowest DTSEN decile or the poorest groups will update their data to redirect assistance to others.
