Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed appreciation to all parties involved in disaster response efforts across several regions, including task forces and field officers who have worked tirelessly to assist affected communities.

Prabowo delivered the remarks while opening a cabinet meeting at the State Palace on Friday. He stated that the government continues to monitor developments in a number of disaster-affected areas that are still undergoing recovery.

“Of course, we are holding this cabinet meeting while many of our brothers and sisters are only beginning to recover from the various disasters we have faced. I would also like to thank all elements for their hard work,” Prabowo said.

The president cited the rapid construction of bridges as one example of the accelerated post-disaster response carried out by the task force. He noted that 218 bridges had been built in approximately two and a half months.

According to Prabowo, this achievement demonstrates the government’s swift response in ensuring that public access in disaster-affected areas is restored quickly.

“Building 218 bridges in 2.5 months shows a rapid and responsive reaction, not only from the government but from all elements, especially in rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in disaster-hit areas,” he said.

He added that these efforts also reflect the readiness and dedication of various government institutions and personnel working in the field.

Prabowo said the officers involved had not only worked intensively on the ground but had also shown significant sacrifice in carrying out humanitarian duties.

On behalf of the nation and the state, he expressed appreciation to all parties involved in disaster management.

He also conveyed special appreciation to Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, who leads the rehabilitation and reconstruction task force, and requested that his gratitude be shared with all personnel in the field.

“On behalf of the nation and the state, and as President, I extend my gratitude to everyone who has worked hard. To the Minister of Home Affairs as head of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, I express my appreciation and ask that it be conveyed to all elements in the field who have worked tirelessly,” he said.
