Upon arrival at the Imperial Palace complex, President Prabowo was greeted by Emperor Naruhito as he disembarked. The two leaders then proceeded to the Take-no-ma room for a group photo before beginning the discussions.
According to a press release from the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with the two leaders holding a one-on-one conversation.
Besides discussion on formal state matters, the conversation also included a lighthearted exchange of stories, reflecting the close personal relationship between the Indonesian President and the Japanese Emperor.
In addition to meeting with Emperor Naruhito, Prabowo also held a separate meeting with the Japanese Crown Prince, Fumihito, the Emperor's younger brother.
The meeting reinforced the emotional connection and friendship between Indonesia and Japan, reaching the level of the imperial family.
Following the formal meeting, President Prabowo, Emperor Naruhito, and Crown Prince Fumihito attended a state luncheon held at Rensui North, a section of the Imperial Palace complex known for its classical architecture.
The atmosphere was relaxed, overlooking a Japanese garden directly in front of the two leaders. President Prabowo expressed his admiration for the garden's beauty and engaged in casual conversation with Emperor Naruhito throughout the activity.
The warmth of the atmosphere highlighted the strengthening partnership between Indonesia and Japan, with the leaders’ closeness forming a firm basis for continued collaboration.
During the courtesy call, President Prabowo was accompanied by his son and several high-ranking state officials, namely Ragowo Hediprasetyo, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
