Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Home Minister Akhmad Wiyagus emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that no person with disabilities is neglected in terms of both human rights protection and population data collection.

He made the statement during an advocacy event on disability data rights at Telkom University in Bandung on Tuesday.

He said data collection is not merely an administrative matter, but a reflection of the state's presence in recognizing and protecting all citizens.

"No person with disabilities should be left unregistered, and no one should be denied their rights. This is not a slogan. This is our work standard," he said.

To achieve this, the Home Affairs Ministry continues to strengthen an inclusive data system using a name-, address-, and condition-based approach, including recording specific types of disabilities.

The data will be integrated into the National Integrated Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) to improve the accuracy of public service delivery and aid distribution.

"This integration is an important step in unifying various data sources into a single national reference that can be used by all ministries, institutions, and regional governments," he said.

He also highlighted a regulatory update under Home Affairs Minister Regulation No. 6 of 2026, which replaces the term "disabled persons" with "persons with disabilities" in line with Law No. 8 of 2016.

The policy is supported by cooperation with the Thisable Foundation to enhance data accuracy and the fulfillment of disability rights.

Through Dukcapil offices across regions, the government has issued population documents to 722,229 persons with disabilities through proactive outreach, where officers directly visit individuals to record data and update administrative documents.

"Inclusive development can only be achieved if no citizen is left behind," he said.

He also called on all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration so that the protection of disability rights becomes an integral part of national development.

He expressed appreciation to the National Disability Commission (KND) and Telkom University for launching an educational video on disability data updates.
