“I have been mandated by the President to ensure that the MBG program reaches the public. Therefore, SPPGs are one of the key instruments in efforts to improve the quality of human resources from an early age,” Wihaji said in a statement on Friday.
Through the provision of safe, healthy, and nutritious food, the government continues to support children's growth and development while accelerating efforts to prevent stunting across regions, he added.
During a visit to the SPPG Pulonas 02 facility in Babussalam Sub-district, Southeast Aceh District, on Wednesday (June 3), Wihaji ensured that the implementation of nutrition fulfillment programs for students and other target groups was being carried out according to established standards and was providing tangible benefits to the community.
During the visit, he observed food preparation processes, hygiene standards, and the distribution mechanism for beneficiaries.
According to data from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), SPPG Pulonas 02 currently prepares 2,316 MBG meal portions daily for students and 463 portions for beneficiaries in the 3B group. The facility is supported by 47 workers and operates six days a week.
In addition to serving students, MBG meals for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers in the 3B group are distributed through the Batu Bulan Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), one of the designated distribution points.
“The MBG program for the 3B group is the only one of its kind in the world. Its success depends not only on the government but also on the support of regional administrations, implementing personnel, healthcare workers, and the community,” Wihaji said.
