Head of Titab village, I Gusti Nyoman Darsana, said here Saturday that the dead resident was identified as Kadek Eka Yudi Setiawan, 32.
The body of Kadek, resident of Titab village, Busungbiu, Buleleng district, was found floating at Saba river in Pengastulan village, Seririt subdistrict, on Friday evening, he said.
The flood waters` strong currents also carried tens of cows and caused Kzetut Sempiran, 60-year-old resident of Angsa Sari hamlet in Titab village, to go missing, he said.
A bridge in Titab village was also destroyed by the flood waters` strong currents, I Gusti Nyoman Darsana said.
Kadek`s corpse was found floating by Sihab, a local student who happened to be fishing at Saba river, he said.
Kadek was carried away by the flood waters` strong currents after trying to cross a bridge in his village by riding his motorbike.
The victim ignored the warnings of some people of the danger of strong currents before crossing the flood-hit bridge with his motorcycle, he said.
The deadly floods hit some parts of Buleleng district after torrential rain showered the area on Friday.
The extreme weather that hit the district`s area also caused a landslide. At least four houses got damaged, he said.
In helping the flood victims, a group of servicemen, policemen and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) activists had been deployed to the disaster zone along with an ambulance, he said.
Along the year 2010, heavy floods had posed a serious threat in many parts of Indonesia.
In December 2010 alone, floods inundated some villages in Cilacap (Central Java) as well as Lombok Timur and Dompu (West Nusa Tenggara).
Over the past year, Indonesia has been undergoing an extreme weather phenomenon, which partly characterizes with heavy rains and whirlwinds.
As the consequences of the torrential rains and whirlwinds, various vulnerable parts of the country have experienced flash floods and landslides.
Wasior town in Teluk Wondama, West Papua Province, for instance, was struck by flash floods on October 3 and 4. The Wasior flooding was the worst which had reportedly killed at least 150 people.
Wasior town was covered with mud, logs and rocks following the floods.
