Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice-President Boediono said in his view, the 6.4 percent economic growth target for 2011 was too low considering Indonesia`s huge economic potentials.

"I think 6.4 percent is e too low a target if we are able to develop our potentials. In my view, Indonesia`s capacities would be far beyond that we will achieve," said Vice-President Boediono in his concluding remark at the first session of the directives from three coordinating ministers to provincial leaders from all Indonesia regions, here, on Monday.

Boediono pounted out that it will not be impossible that Indonesia can achieve an economic growth of between 7.0-8.0 percent in 2011.

The key to achieving the target, according to Boediono, is the well utilization of energies, including social energy, as well as bolstering up the strength in electricity and oil and gas sectors.

"The extraordinary social energy has brought us to our independence with sharpened bamboo poles, an invisible energy. That a platform for us to gain even better potencies, thus 7.0 to 8.0 percent a year wouldn`t be impossible for us," he said.

In the first session, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that Indonesia has set an economic target of 6.4 percent for 2011.

In addition, inflation target is 5.3 percent, unemployment rate 7.0 percent and poverty figure of between 11.5 to 12.5 percents.

The president said that the targets would be achieved by using financial resource from the 2011 state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) of 1,229.6 trillion rupiahs, or a 9.2 percent increase compared to last year`s APBN.(*)
