"Local newspaper prices today are priced up to Rp4000 per copy, whereas it was only priced Rp2000 previously according to the written price on its front pages," said a local newspaper retailer, Kodri, here Tuesday.
According to Kodri, these newspapers prices are usually doubles on every civil servant enrolment is published.
Kodri admitted that even with its doubling price, customers never argue and mind about it, considering that they only wanted to know the announcement information inside.
"I have already sold 70 copies of newspapers since eight o`clock until midday," he said.
Another retailer in different location, Buyung, said that the newspapers price will rise in accordance to it stock availability which will be run out shortly.
Despite the fact that newspaper frenzy is now in town, this year's sales seems not as good as last year`s selling, because several institutions did not publish their announcement in newspapers, but placed the information in some locations by the organizers.
"Last year at least i sold 200 copies in a day, but this year?s seems to be less than that," he said.
According to Riau`s Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD), there are 2,738 participants passed the written test out of 53,090 participants underwent the test.
The test itself will be continued on January 18, 2011 for re-registration process for those who passed earlier series.
At least fortune is on newspapers retailers? side to gain a little profit of a certain event.
