Accompanied by Indonesian ambassador to Laos, the Lao ambassador to Indonesia, the foreign ministry`s director general and foreign ministry staff he ascended the temple as high as 10 stairs.
"The visit of the Lao foreign minister and entourage was a tourism visit to see the condition of the temple after the eruption of Mount Merapi located in the region," head of the Borobudur Heritage Conservation Agency, Marsis Sutopo said.
Minister Thongloun and entourage looked enthusiastic when listening the tour leader explaining about the history of the temple and the stories hidden behind the reliefs.
After visiting Borobudur minister Thongloun then took a look at Samudra Raksa and Karmawibangga museums located at the Borobudur Temple tourist park area. (*)
