Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have yet to name Milana Anggraeni, the wife of convicted former taxman Gayus HP Tambunan, a suspect in an alleged passport forgery case.

"The police have not yet named Milana a suspect because we still need evidence," spokesman for the Indonesian Police Headquarters Chief Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said here on Friday. Boy said the available evidence was not enough to name Milana a suspect.

Police have twice questioned Milana as a witness in the making of the false passport with which Gayus had made several overseas trips while he was supposed to be in jail.

Gayus was believed to visit Macau on Sept 22-24, 2010. From Sept 30 to Oct 2 last year, he, along with his wife was believed to make another overseas trips which took them to Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The passport which bears the name of Sony Laksono was actually issued to five-year-old Margareta. Gayus said he obtained the passport from a scalper for US$100,000.

The government said on Thursday it would ask for US assistance to probe the identity of US citizen John Jerome Grice believed to be an intellectual actor behind the issuance of the passport.

Gayus mentioned US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent John Jerome Grice in his legal case after a court session here on Wednesday.

"John is a CIA agent whose activities are known to members of the Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force," Gayus said after the court session at the South Jakarta District Court.

But Ted Osius, deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Jakarta, said Friday John Jerome Grice is not a CIA agent.

"No, he`s not a CIA agent. Jerome is just an ordinary US citizen who apparently was interested in Gayus` case," Ted Osius said.Gayus was sentenced to seven years for tax evasion and corruption on Wednesday.(*)
