Before leaving India, President Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono met with Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to bid farewell at the Rasthrapati Bhavan Presidential Palace.
The presidential aircraft Garuda Airbus 330-300 with President Yudhoyono and delegation on board left Palam military airport in New Delhi at 6.30pm and was scheduled to arrive in Zurich at 21.40pm local time.
President Yudhoyono`s presence at the World Economic Forum, set up by an independent organization to discuss and find solutions to various global issues, in Davos would be his first.
The event is attended every year by world business leaders, international organizations` chiefs, and also a number of heads of state and government.
Indonesia will be host of the World Economic Forum for East Asia to be held on July 12-13 this year.
In Davos, President Yudhoyono will give a speech at the session on energy to be attended by energy company chief executives.
He is also scheduled to be a panelist at the session on sustainable development along with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico, President Tarja Halonen of Finland and President Jacob G Zuma of South Africa.
President Yudhoyono is also to attended a meeting to discuss economic growth and revitalization of world trade to be attended by British Prime Minister David Cameron, Germen Chancellor Angela Merkel and World Trade Organization director Pascal Lamy.
On the sidelines of the WEF forum in Davos President Yudhoyono would also hold bilateral meetings with a number of heads of state or government such as President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France and President of the Swiss Confederation, Micheline Clamy Rey.
President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, former US president Bill Clinton and former British prime minister Tony Blair.
President Yudhoyono would also attend an "Indonesia Co-Co Night" to celebrate the spirit of collaboration and cooperation .
President Yudhoyono will be in Switzerland until January 29 and is scheduled to arrive back home at 9.45am on Sunday (Jan 30).(*)
