"If the country tolerates violence, it would trigger other violence. Therefore, violence might be considered an equitable manner," President of Paramadina University Anies Baswedan Ph.D said here Tuesday.
With regard to the recent violence committed in Indonesia Anies said the government had a powerful right to control violence in the nation.
"Therefore, the Government should use its right to enforce the law in order not to let violence destroy the nation," Anies said.
The government should allow "zero-tolerance" on any violence as well as combat and eradicate it impartially, he said.
The nation was at the brink of uncertainty as the government allowed several violence to occur in the country, he said.
Long-standing violence was due to the lack of law enforcement in the country, Anies said.
"There should be a firm order. Eradicate violence impartially," Anies said.
