Jakarta (ANTARA News) - National Education Minister Mohammad Nuh and Egyptian ambassador to Indonesia Ahmed El Kewaisny discussed Indonesia`s wish to send back Indonesians to Egypt after the recent crisis in Egypt.

In the meeting at the education ministry here on Thursday Ahmed El Kewaisny expressed preparedness to help the return to Egypt of Indonesians who had been evacuated during the crisis some time ago.

"We are ready to facilitate to handling of immigration documents for the Indonesians wishing to continue their study in Egypt after some time ago being evacuated by the Indonesian government," he said.

He said education ministry has opened a command post for registration which can be access on line through www.kemdiknas.go.id or www.kln.dikti.go.id and phone numbers 021-51226002, 021-90549640, 021-57946063, and 082124237360. The ministry gave the last day for the registration on March 7.

The latest data show that the number of Indonesian registrars wishing to return to Egypt had reached 900.

During the crisis, a total of 2,432 Indonesians had been evacuated in six flights, most of them were students studying in Egypt.

The Indonesian government promised to return the Indonesians to Egypt as soon as possible at the full expenses of the Indonesian government.

According to the data, there are 6,000 Indonesians in Egypt, including 4,200 students. (*)
