"This is a diplomatic momentum for Indonesia in the Middle East as Indonesia has so far had no problem with Khadafi."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinator of the Indonesian Parliamentarian Caucus for Palestine Al Muzzamil Yusuf has urged the Indonesian government to urge the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League to help deal with the political crisis in Libya.
"If the Arab League could not play its role effectively because some of its members are facing similar problems, the OIC should be involved since its members include Turkey and Indonesia, two democratic nations, to help address the humanitarian problem in Libya," Yusuf said in a press statement from the Justice and Prosperous Party faction, here Friday.
According to him, the Arab League and the OIC would be more acceptable for the Libyan people as well as Moammar Kadafi because of the cultural and religion similarities.
While, Kadafi has been in prolonged conflicts with the West basically, he said.
"This is a diplomatic momentum for Indonesia in the Middle East as Indonesia has so far had no problem with Khadafi," he said.
The PKS politician was also worried that if the OIC and Arab League were not involved in solving the Libyan political crisis, Libya might fall victim into the US cunning strategy to monopoly the oil by conducting a military invasion in the Middle East, he said.
"Libya must not be let be in the long list of Islamic world sufferings such as in Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan," he stated.
He suspected that the US intervention in Libya was to get the oil from the strife-torn country, like what had happened with the US involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"If the US really wants to give humanitarian assistance, it should to to Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan to help the victims of the US arrogance and its allaies," Muzzamil Yusuf said.
