Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been urged to immediately announce the outcome of his cabinet reshuffling effort.

"It must be announced immediately so that the ministers can work with peace of mind and the government can run effectively," former chief of Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama, Solahuddin Wahid, said here on Tuesday.

He said the longer the President waited to announce his reshuffled cabinet, the more ineffective his government could become because his ministers would be afraid to issue policies while in fact the government still has many things to accomplish.

The secretary general of the Indonesian Communion of Churches (PGI), Golmar Gultom, shared Solahuddin`s view that the President should immediately announce whether or not he would reshuffle the cabinet.

"Buying time will make ministers unable to work effectively," he said.

Culturalist Frans Magnis Suseno said the most important thing was making the government able to run effectively so that it could carry out its duties well.

So far, there had not been any decision from the President with regard to the issue of a cabinet reshuffle because there was as yet no certainty about the government coalition.

The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and Golkar Party have been said to be marked for ousting from the coalition while Gerindra Party would be included in it.

Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie however said on Tuesday that he had met with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Golkar would remain in the coalition.(*)
