The head of state, on several previous occasions, stated his intention to strengthen the authority and performance of the Prosecutors Oversight Commission and the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), so they could contribute to the improvement of the police and prosecutor performance.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto on Wednesday (March 9) reported to the president about the preparations for the inauguration of the commission members.
He emphasized the need to make the new presidential regulations on the function, authorities and tasks of both commissions, be known to the public in general and to concerned parties in particular.
The budget for the two commissions is allocated under the political, legal and security sector, separate from those of the National Police and the Attorney General Office.(*)
