Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa does not rule out the possibility that ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) will be evaluated if unfair trade practices such as dumping are found.

"Such evaluation is a must. Under the free trade agreement with China, the evaluation is also made possible," he told the press following an internal meeting at the vice presidential palace here on Thursday.

He was responding to the results of a survey made by the Industry Ministry which found indicators of dumping practices committed by China in exporting a number of commodities to Indonesia.

According to the survey, there are at least 190 types of Chinese products whose selling prices are subject to evaluation.

Of the total, 38 types of Chinese products are sold at lower prices in Indonesia than in China.

Hatta said Indonesia had had a mechanism of filing complaints about unfair trade with other countries.

"If we find signs of unfair trade we can lodge complaints. We must do that to protect domestic products," he said.

Also present at the meeting led by Vice President Boediono were Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, and Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring.(*)
