"We will deploy 450 personnel to assure the smooth PSSI congress," chief of operations of the Pekanbaru city police resort, Commissioner Romel Hutagaol, said here on Friday.
The operation would be carried out at Hotel Premiere, the venue for the congress from 9am until it is finished in line with notification from the national police headquarters.
He said police called on the people who wished to take to the street to express their aspirations not to be anarchic so that public order would not be disrupted.
Around 5,000 participants are expected to attend the congress to discuss an election and the appeals committees. (*)
