Amman (ANTARA News/AFP) - More than 100 people were injured Friday as pro-reform protesters and government supporters clashed in Amman, prompting police to use water cannons to break the clashes, medics and an AFP correspondent said.

"There are more than 100 people injured, including policemen," a medical source at the scene told AFP.

An AFP journalist at the scene said police used water cannons to break clashes between students protesting to demand reforms and government supporters.

A security official told AFP that "riot police were deployed to try to control the situation." (*)
