Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Swedish minister for health and social affairs Goran Hangglund will visit Indonesia on April 5-7 with a big business delegation to bring "health care for the future", the Swedish embassy said.

Minister Hagglund will be accompanied by around 15 Swedish health care companies during the three day visit organized by the Swedish embassy and the Swedish Trade Council, it said in a statement received here on Monday.

He will meet with his Indonesian counterpart health minister Endang Sedyaningsih and with whom he will present and open a seminar on health care for the future.

The two in the meeting will focus on areas of mutual interest and look into the possibilities for further cooperation and exchange in the areas of health care for the future.

"We have seen a strong tendency of a steadily growing interest from the Swedish government`s side for Indonesia during the last years," Swedish ambassador to Indonesia Mrs Ewa Polano said.

"This has been reflected in many ways, but sove very obvious examples are the increasing bilateral visits of Swedish ministers to Indonesia lately," she said.

Swedish trade minister Dr Ewa Bjorling came to Indonesia early in February during which climate change and environmental issues had played a pivotal role.

Sweden is a leading country for health care research and development. With a very developed health care sector Sweden has a lot to offer.

The upcoming visit of minister Hagglund is a testament to the increased Swedish interest in developing closer cooperation with Indonesia.

The minister will be heading a delegation of Swedish businesses within the health care sector providing expert knowledge, technology and products to improve health care for both public and private health providers.(*)
